The Museum of the Rockies is hosting its 5th Annual Dinosaurs & MOR! Festival this weekend, from Friday March 27th through Sunday March 29th, for a full weekend of dinosaur-themed events for all ages.

Here’s a taste of what’s happening:

  • Family-friendly activities all weekend (passport stations, hands-on exhibits, planetarium shows)

  • Live talks from world-class paleontologists

  • Workshops for all ages (from toddler dino play to DIY terrariums)

  • Special guest: Dr. Kirk Johnson (Smithsonian)

  • And a lot more

Kids can complete activity stations to earn a Jr. Paleontologist Certificate, while adults can dive deeper with lectures, workshops, and special events.

Sky Oro hosts Grounds for Connection from 9:00am-11:00am, bringing locals together for coffee, pastries, and meaningful conversation, with a spotlight on Green Flag Counseling and Haven. Details.

🪶 The 50th Annual American Indian Council Powwow takes over the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on Friday and Saturday, kicking off with a grand entry at 5:00pm on Friday and continuing Saturday with grand entries at 11:00am and 5:00pm, plus traditional dancing, singing, contests, vendors, and a vibrant cultural celebration. Free and open to the public. Details.

🦖 The Dinosaurs & MOR! Festival’s kickoff party is this Friday from 5:30pm-8:00pm at the Museum of the Rockies, featuring hands-on Paleo Passport activities, a planetarium show, special presentations, and guest appearances from leading paleontology voices. (There will also be a full weekend of activities at the museum!) Details.

🎉 Thrive’s Lily Ball Weekend kicks off with The Shindig at the Rialto, for a laid-back hoedown-style event featuring live music, country dancing, local vendors, cocktails, and light bites, with doors at 6:00pm. Details.

🎨 Studio Wheelhouse hosts a guided sketchbook art workshop from 6:30pm-8:00pm, offering a relaxed, hands-on session to explore sketching, watercolor, mixed media, and more while building a consistent creative practice. Details.

🎶 Friday night at the Tune Up Bar features back-to-back live music starting with Indigenous singer-songwriter Ryan LittleEagle from 6:00pm-8:00pm, followed by Clint Anderson & The Montana Gazette bringing high-energy country and honky-tonk vibes from 9:00pm-11:00pm. Details.

🎭 The Phantom Chuckwagon takes over the Jessie Wilber Gallery at the Emerson, with doors at 6:30pm and the show at 7:00pm, for a one-man folk storytelling performance featuring puppets, ghosts, and a surreal campfire-style adventure. Free, but tickets required. Details.

🎬 Spire Climbing + Fitness presents the Mellow Film Tour, with doors at 6:30pm and films starting at 7:00pm, featuring four climbing films plus a short by local climbers and a raffle supporting Bozeman Climbing Team scholarships. Details.

🎭 Robin Hood: Music in Concert takes the stage this Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm at Verge Theater in the Emerson, bringing the legendary tale to life through live vocal performances of Victorian-era scores. Details.

😂 Last Best Comedy hosts Friday Night Stand-Up with Katie Hannigan with shows at 7:00pm and 9:00pm, where you can see a nationally touring comic seen on The Late Show, Comedy Central, and more. Details.

🌶️ The Red NOT Chili Peppers hit The Elm with doors at 7:00pm and the show at 8:00pm, bringing a high-energy tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers with hits spanning every era. Details.

🏃‍♂️ The American Indian Council Powwow Fun Run starts at 9:00am at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse (south parking lot), featuring a 5K and 1-mile run/walk starting at 9:00am, with race-day registration available until 8:55am this Saturday. Details.

🤠 Stop by Murdoch’s on 7th Ave for an MSU Rodeo Meet & Greet from 9:00am-12:00pm, where you can meet the athletes, grab signed posters, and get your tickets for the upcoming spring rodeo. Details.

🥕 Visit the Gallatin County Fairgrounds from 9:00am-12:00pm for the Bozeman Winter Farmers Market to stock up on local produce and goods. Details.

🦞 Stop by Sitka Gear Bozeman as they kick off spring hunting and fishing season with a Spring Season Kick-Off & Crawfish Boil starting at 1:00pm, featuring free crawfish, raffles, vendor booths, and presentations with local outdoor brands. Details.

🪴 Phoenix Garden Center features Way to Grow! Houseplants 101 from 1:00pm-2:00pm, for a free class with a live demo and Q&A to help you keep your indoor plants healthy and thriving. Details.

🎬 Saturday afternoon at Tinworks at Rialto features a screening of Dan Graham’s Rock My Religion (1983–1984) at 2:00pm (with an additional show at 7:00pm), presented in partnership with the Bozeman Film Society, exploring the intersection of music, movement, and spirituality through experimental film. 🛍️ 406 Flea is back with their latest monthly Vintage Market at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds (exhibit building 3) from 5:00pm-8:00pm, featuring 20+ local vendors with vintage clothing, handmade goods, and one-of-a-kind finds. Details.

📚 The Bozeman Public Library hosts Authors and Books: Rosemary Wells from 2:00pm-4:00pm, where the beloved author and illustrator will share stories, creative process, and host a book signing after. Details.

📚 Studio Wheelhouse has a hands-on bookbinding workshop from 3:30pm-6:30pm, where you’ll transform The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue into a custom black-and-gold hardcover. No experience needed, all materials included. Details.
