With the current disruptions to SNAP benefits and the holidays quickly approaching, our Gallatin Valley Food Bank needs a little extra love and support.

While food donations are always appreciated, the food bank can stretch monetary donations incredibly far through their bulk purchasing partnerships.

This means they can secure larger food orders at discounted rates and bring in fresh produce and perishables exactly when shelves start to run low.

🐾 Stafford Animal Shelter is popping up at Petco for their November Puppy Adoption Event from 3:00pm-6:00pm. All pups are spayed or neutered and are up to date on their vaccines! (PSA: please go get one so my wife doesn’t come home with 5 new dogs 🙏) Details.

💚 Head over to the Phoenix Garden Center (formally Gallatin Valley Garden Center) from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday (and 9:00am-3:00pm on Saturday) for their White Barn Vintage Christmas Market. Preview their incredible vendor lineup here and start making your list for Santa.

📚️ Studio Wheelhouse is hosting their second Art Book Club to discuss Your Brain on Art from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Gather with community, enjoy some snacks, and discuss the way art makes us human. Book club is free to attend! Details.

👸 Bozeman High’s Hawk Theater performs The Princess Bride at the BHS Auditorium, with shows throughout the weekend, including a Friday night showing at 7:00pm. Tickets and details.

Saturday 11/8

💙💛 The Can the Griz Food Drive kicks off this Saturday 11/8, and runs until Saturday 11/22! This beloved tradition is a friendly off-field competition between MSU and the Bozeman Community against UM and Missoula’s Community to see who can collect the most food and funds before the Brawl of the Wild. Every can and dollar supports the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and MSU’s Bounty of the Bridgers pantry, helping feed our community long after game day. Details.

🎃 Save your leftover Halloween pumpkins from the landfill and bring them to Happy Trashcan’s Pumpkin Smash instead. Smashing will take place from 11:00am-2:00pm at Story Mill Park! (Free to attend.) Details.

🧗‍♀️ Spire is hosting their Full Gravity Day from 8:00am-10:30pm, where you can compete for cash prizes in their space-inspired climbing competition. Spectators are also welcome and costumes are encouraged. Registration and details here.

🥧 It’s Emergency Shopping Day at the Livingston Food Resource Center from 10:00am-1:00pm, with groceries including fresh produce, milk, eggs, homemade bread, frozen meat, and pantry staples. Everyone is invited! Details.

🎻 Bring your little ones to Symphony Storytime at the Bozeman Public Library from 10:15am-11:15am! This month features Harpist Angela Espinosa, who will help bring a story to life alongside a guest reader. (Free to attend.) Details.

🔮 Eagle Mount’s Crystal Ball fundraiser is back at The Armory at 5:30pm. This year’s Through The Looking Glass theme sets the stage for an elegant evening of dinner, dancing, and auctions, all supporting Eagle Mount’s adaptive recreation programs. Tickets and details.

⛷️ Crosscut is hosting a Beginner Biathlon Clinic from 10:00am-1:00pm. Learn the fundamentals of nordic skiing and rifle marksmanship in a gorgeous location. No experience skiing or shooting necessary! Details.

🧡 Showgirls unite! Taylor Swift Night is happening at The Elm with StanSociety. Doors open at 7:00pm with the party starting at 8:00pm, so get your best Eras outfits ready and get ready for a night to remember! Tickets and details.

Sunday 11/9

🧑‍🌾 From 12:00pm-5:00pm at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds, locals are putting on a Free Bozeman Farmers Market to help those affected by the loss of SNAP benefits. Bring homemade food, produce, or anything you can share, and stick around to personally give it to those in need. Details.

🐶 The Gallatin County Corgi Club is keeping the Halloween fun going with their annual Corgiween party from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Join them at Heart of the Valley for a costume contest, photo-ops, games, and corgi races. Suggested donation of $10/family or bring the shelter pups something off of their wish list! Details.

🎶 A Gershwin Spectacular is happening at Gallatin High School’s Auditorium at 2:30pm. Come listen to the Gallatin Valley Concert Band as they pay homage to American composer George Gershwin. (Free to attend.) Details.

🧵 Stop by Beacon Coffee Roasters from 1:00pm-5:00pm for Peace By Piece - a cozy, creative afternoon where you can help craft a large tie-blanket art piece - symbolizing belonging in Bozeman.
